Paul Pogba himself is indeed known as a quite devout adherent of Islam, as evidenced in several posts on his social media, the French midfielder often displays the religious side of the player.
One of them was when he posted an upload while undergoing Umrah, right after bringing Manchester United won the Europa League title in 2017.
Known as a devout Muslim, it turns out Paul Pogba has a story that is quite unique and inspiring in his journey to find Islam. So what is the story like?
Launching an independent page, it was mentioned that Paul Pogba discovered Islam precisely from his peers and not from his mother who was a true Muslim.
Yeo Pogba, Pogba's mother who is Muslim apparently did not force his three sons to follow the beliefs he held, so it is not surprising that Pogba only became a Muslim when he was a teenager.
On the page it was mentioned, if Pogba discovered Islam after he was in a difficult time, and made a search for calmness. The climax, Pogba joined in praying with his Muslim friends and felt something different.
"That (Islam) came because I have many Muslim friends. We always talk. I questioned myself in many ways, then I started doing my own research," he said.
"I prayed once with my friends and I felt something different. I felt very good. Since that day I have continued. Praying five times a day as one of the pillars of Islam," he added.
After becoming a Muslim, Pogba admitted that he changed for the better and made his heart more peaceful than before. Many positive changes he felt, including the attitude of mutual respect for one another.
"This is truly a religion that opens my mind and makes me a better person. Even if you are not a Muslim, you must be able to respect without distinguishing religion or color. This is Islam, respect for humanity and everything," concluded Pogba .
After becoming a Muslim, Pogba seemed to want to establish an Islamic nuance even in his domestic life. Evidently, his wife, Maria Zulay Salaues, began to look like a Muslim woman.
